John Durham just announced that he is leaving the Justice Department.
His investigation thus far has produced little, yet it was repeatedly trumpeted by Barr and other Trump allies.
It looks like Barr misled the public about this investigation as well.

Doesnt he still continue as Special Counsel? Seems like his leaving eliminates the main objection to him doing so, namely that the SC comes from outside the department

(42,653 posts)6. Durham was appointed last year by then-Attorney General William Barr as a special council to
investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia probe. He will remain in that capacity, according to the Associated Press.

(82,849 posts)9. Makes me strongly suspect
Durham has slipped the leash of the Department of Justice, and will now proceed, a la Ken Starr, to special counsel his way through an endless investigation with the power to subpoena people and jail them for contempt if they don't answer every last one of his questions (cf. Susan McDougall).
I would be happy to be wrong.

before the Bar Examiners in the states they hold licenses. Perpetuating a fraud should not be overlooked.
