Americans are too caught up with materialism and keeping-up-with-the-Joneses. They got to have the newest, latest thing. That's why cellphones, cars and other stuff keeps selling.

Americans are too caught up with celebrities and athletes as if those are worthy role models. That's why nothings like the Kardashians are so popular.

For some stupid reason, too many Americans think that education, independent thinking and individualism are negative attributes. Until that perspective changes, a sizeable portion of our nation will continue to be intellectually lazy, creatively stunted and superficial. That's the perfect breeding ground for a Trump or Cruz.
