Trump could never have pulled this off.
I got a call today from the vaccination people asking me if I wanted to take an open slot this afternoon and get my first shot. I jumped at the chance since my appointment wasn't until April 9th. My son drove me and they had a slot for him too. We got there and were greeted by the National Guard who ushered us into a parking lot where we parked and waited. At the exact time the appointment was scheduled, a lady came up to the car, asked a few questions and gave us both our shots. They were painless. We then sat in the car with the hazard blinkers on for 15 minutes and then were on our way with an appointment car for the second shot in 2 weeks. Nothing to it.
The State of New Hampshire deserves some credit too but we would never be where we are with this if it were not for Joe Biden.

1. It is the best. Here in Oregon too. Now like if you aren't getting one, you are not trying very hard
I tell everyone to scavenger those shots. People do not show and the shots need to be used. Don't care who it is.

10. I call it gleaning, instead of scavenging
But whatever you call it, it’s a good thing. I got my first Pfizer at the Lane Events Center on 27 February. Due for jab #2 on 20 March but don’t have an appointment yet.

12. I put it as raw as I could to try to get perked ears. Really, I am seeing a lot of older here in Or
just sitting back a little too much instead of proactive. But then, I was a 60 yr old, not gonna get 'til Aug, .... in bad shape to get covid and two sons early 20's staying away without a job. It behooved me to be proactive and I got lucky and then learned.... Work at it and people could be getting them.

Looking for the Lane County Public Health e-mails so I can jump on an appointment. I’m not waiting for them to call.

23. My 76-year-old husband got his second Moderna vaccine today. They were supposed to send him an email
to schedule an appointment but never did. A couple of days ago, he heard on the news that there were more vaccines coming so went on line, got lucky, and made his own appointment. A new company has just taken over distribution in Riverside County, CA and they were very interested to hear his experience. Hopefully, it'll be fixed soon because I'm due for my second next Wednesday.
Moral of the story is, if you don't hear from them, make sure they hear from you. Good luck! |

Perfectly ok. But I was being informed so that helped.

27. I got mine at Lane co. They started going to promotions in my email instead of primary.
At first they were coming to my primary, then for my second shot it was going to promotion. I really thought just same old info. Instead it was for me to get an appointment. I am so glad I went into the email instead of not missing with it. I have one gal in her 70s heart problems and I am nagging her to get on it and call. See if she can go in at 4 as they are closing and picking up a dose. She told me she has missed 3 notifications to get a spot. I mean, how seriously is that. I wish you the best. They are getting much better in Oregon, now. Beginning and into Feb I was not impressed.

6. An important part of the presidency is the perception of leadership.
For President Biden, it's an inherent quality. For Trump, it was a nonexistent one.
President Biden has tons of connections from his decades of public service, he knows how to pick the right people for the right jobs, and his confidence and personality set the tone. It's been an amazing 50 days. |

21. What really irks me is to think that if Biden had been POTUS when all this started there would have
been hundreds of thousands of people alive today. The past year amounted to criminal negligence on Trump's part. He knew exactly what was what, covered it up and did nothing on purpose.

22. Or if Hillary had been president.
She would not have dismissed the virus as a hoax. Nor would she have fired much of the staff in China the summer before the virus hit of have ignored US intelligence that warned of something unusual happening in Wuhan. Everything Trump did was to make the matter worse.

39. Thanks for adding that. I should have said Hillary, but I'm so impressed by Biden at the moment
she's just moved to the back of my mind. She would have been on it from the first rumor of the virus and we might have experienced something more on the bird flu level of death than this nightmare. It's a real shame. I'll never understand the outcome of that election.

My husband just got the J&J vacc Saturday. We'd been trying to get him scheduled since early January (maybe earlier). I got my first Moderna on 2/19 and I'm scheduled to get the second shot next Friday. I don't believe either of us would have gotten the vaccine had "the former guy" been in office.

42. I got mine on Tuesday in Sedalia, MO.
Sedalia is about 30 miles from my home. My appointment was at 4:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Fair Grounds and I was told to be there at 3:45. I arrived a wee bit before then, however, everything went so smoothly that I was completely done, even after the 15 minute wait at 4:04 p.m. I was very impressed with the whole set up and the National Guard. March 30, when I get my second dose, cannot come fast enough.
