GOP Can't Figure Out How To Make Joe Biden Black, A Woman Or Both

Nothing new, but a good read.

Republicans are struggling — hooray! — to “define" Joe Biden or, more to the point, falsely smear the president as a Kenyan socialist demonic baby eater. Their scuzzy tactics worked so well with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. What's different about Uncle Joe? That will likely remain a mystery for as long as Biden remains an old white guy.

From the Associated Press: "There's just not the antipathy to Biden like there was Obama. He just doesn't drive conservative outrage," said Alex Conant, a longtime GOP operative, who worked for the Republican National Committee in 2009 as they labored to undermine then-President Barack Obama.

There's not much “labor" involved with going full racist against the first Black president. (Which AP actually noted! "Biden, who focused a portion of his campaign trying to win back working-class white voters who left the Democratic Party for Trump, also inherently does not face the racist attacks aimed at Obama or the sexist ones targeted at Clinton." Will you look at that!)
. . .
They've started to focus their attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris, who is both Black and a woman. She even has her own racist “birther" controversies. Conservatives are now implying that Harris is the true power behind the throne because unlike Mike Pence, her duties are more comprehensive than massaging the president's ego.
. . .
It's reasonable that world leaders would view the young, badass vice president as a future commander in chief. Preparing Harris to take the conn is responsible leadership from Biden, not an abdication of duty. The New York Post reported that Pence didn't speak directly with any world leaders during his final year in office, even though there was a global pandemic and he was theoretically the head of the coronavirus task force.

Harris isn't running the country, but conservatives probably wish she was. Their bigoted bag of tricks just aren't working against Biden.

AND, she's 1,000% correct also. The news media in general misses fat45, because that hippo was a one man gang of entertainment. SO happy that President Joe Biden handles his business and gets things done.

Also happy to be able to sleep at night and not have to worry about what Pres. Biden's doing and NOT doing because he'snot a human piece of shit.

for anything other than a white man as president.

not on the whole.

yes we put obama in the oval office, twice; and yes, a majority voted for hillary.

but enough of the country's people, institutional, rules, and practices are bigoted enough to show that we're not where we should be at all on this front.

it's really sad that even overt racism and sexism get so much media time and attention and legitimacy, at least when covering politics. shame on them.

Part of me hears this and thinks it makes more sense for Dems to have white men running for President because they might be able to get more done. But that would only be true because so many people are racist/sexist in this country and you don’t want to give into them.

This is why I, a female, could not care less about the gender of the president or VP. I want people who are going to get elected and get the job done. Period. It doesn't help anybody to nominate women and minorities who won't be elected. That's how we got Trump. I 100% supported Hilary, but it wasn't worth nominating a female only to have her lose to the likes of The Orangeman.

The so-called crisis at the border is considered a weakness. Of course, the reality is a continuation of an on-going problem made worse by Trump and his border goons. McCarthy and his delegation at the border the other day was perhaps the most cynical ploy ever.

When babies were being ripped from their mother's arms, they said nothing. When children were deliberately locked in cages, they said nothing. When Trump ordered asylum seekers to live in Mexican refugee camps, they said nothing.

Now as the Biden Administration attempts to make the system better, more efficient, more humane, the GOP howls like a bunch of cats when, in fact, they don't give a shit about immigrant families. The only thing they worry about is the demographic tilt and their predictions of a Democratic advantage at the polls.

These Republican politicians are ghouls. At best.

Here's my prediction: the Biden Administration will get a handle on immigration and the GOP will be left with another empty attack plan.

As for Kamala Harris? They start a vicious, sustained attack on Harris, they will reap the whirlwind!

right after Obama was re-elected.
It couldn't have been more obvious that the GOP was gearing up to re-draw the district lines and shut down minority voting to insure only people that possessed sufficient "whiteness" would run the government.
Biden confounded them by also being white; and openly religious; and a truly good person.
That said, I believe Kamala Harris was an excellent choice for VP. It really messed with the Republican's minds.
Since Joe has assumed the office, he has put together the most diverse, and one of the most talented, cabinets ever.
Kamala has already taken on responsibilities far and above those of empty suit Pence. I expect this to continue.

Add to that the horror show Trump represents and the Republicans can't move fast enough to shut down the vote for 2022. I do believe, however, that the current Democrats leading the country are ready to fend off those attempts and not only defend, but expand the voting rights and abilities of the American People.

I don't like to use military comparisons, but it's going to be all out political war for the next several years.
We can't allow the Republicans to resurrect Jim Crow.
