Could lack of republican voter enthusiasm ensure win for Obama?

Less than half of republican voters like Mitt Romney.

The question is: What will they do on election-day?
Will they look past his record and his flip-flops on his record, and vote for him anyway?
Will they split the republican vote by voting for Gingrich or Paul, if they run as independents?
Will they just stay home?

Could this loss of votes on the republican side offset the loss of democratic votes due to disenfranchisement?

No, they'll do their religious duty and vote R. But if we work hard, and fire up our base... Scuba Jan 2012 #1

... we have a chance to hold the Executive (not too hard) and the Senate (harder) and reclaim the House (fire up the base, darn it)>

I've been saying many times that if Mitt gets the nomination, religious leaders (from famous ones down to pastors of backwater churches) will probably line up behind him, but this will be after years of telling their flocks that Mormonism is a cult. Add that to Mitt not being the most exciting thing out there, and you're going to have people who are going to think, "My choices are between a Muslim and a Mormon? I'm staying home and watch NASCAR."
