to Democratic candidates, not a big spender, nickle, dime, quarter, plus tip, i get about eight text messages a day. If you don't respond, you will be removed from the rolls of................ You have been selected to take part in this exclusive survey for democratic voters in XXX county, donate............. Reading about all off the nefarious bullshit from Actred, sometimes I wonder that we are getting fed some of the same bullshit. Don't get me wrong, I trust Actblue, and yes i always add a tip.
Just seems like everytime there is a new democratic candidate any where in the country, I am getting an email asking for money. You will probably get a bit from me, but not today. Have you even won the primary yet? If no quit asking. Likie the bumper sticker on my car, Back Off Jack Off.
Thankfully, I am not stupid. Eight of eight texts a day get deleted. But then, once a week a do send twenty-five to someone.

(14,725 posts)heard of these people and have to look hard to find out where they are from, I just go to unsubscribe. Have to do this on an almost daily basis or if being lazy just send them to spam.

(50,949 posts)absurd.
If you unsubscribe to a Democratic candidate or organization, they stop sending you emails. If you donate, they don't reach into your checking account every week thereafter and take whatever they feel like taking.
PS: I've never gotten anything from a Democratic candidate that threatens to remove me from any rolls. If I did, that would be an immediate unsubscribe for me.

(9,999 posts)Instead of a credit card, pay pal or check, I buy a money order. Then I sign my name so that it is illegible and do not put a return address on the envelope. That way, I can donate only to those that I wish to and do not end up on mailing lists. Just my method...

(3,695 posts)I'm a frequent contributor too especially during election season. My problem is the candidates I donated to that won never stopped sending pleas for money. Every damn day my e-mail is filled with messages. I unsubscribed to some of them but find I'm now getting messages from other Dem groups in their place. As a rule I only donate directly to candidates other than some GOTV groups like Abrams'.

(16,189 posts)Or give my opinion anymore. The whole purpose is for a donation n I get lots of them. Some issues I really care about but now I have so many its just too much. My email has been sold to everyone for a donation n if I unsubscribe, they still come. Im fed up with em

(32,630 posts)I wish I could donate to all of them. But darn it - I'm retired and trying to make it on a fixed income.
There's a giant suckers list somewhere and I'm on it, all because I DO occasionally donate when I can. So it doesn't cost them anything to ask over and over, day in and day out. I get mighty sick of it, though.

(6,251 posts)I click the unsubscribe button, and, if they insist on having a reason for the unsubscribe, I tell them "I'm concentrating all of my time and funds on electing Democrats in West Virginia". I've never had a problem with continuing emails, at least from Democratic candidates and liberal causes. I've somehow gotten on lists for a few Republicans and conservative causes. They are definitely harder to get rid of!

(145,129 posts)I am even on the Just Us Democrats list and their emails are really fun to laugh at. The Just Us Democrats think that we should destroy the Democratic Party and lose safe house seats.
