With the advent of cell phones and concerned citizens, murderers are being sent to prison.
And note the majority-white nature of protests and juries sending bad cops to prison.
These things would NEVER happen 20 years ago.

They may still think they're right, but, if they get enough examples of their fellow cops being sentenced to hard time for their actions, they'll have no choice but to clean up their act, however reluctantly.
Of course, that's all dependent on the judicial system being willing to take a strict line on such cases. I can think of a lot of states and/or counties where that is unlikely at this time. We can only hope that this verdict will be the impetus for a "sea change" in the way of how police are held responsible, but I suspect it will take some time for that to happen everywhere.

This sends the message that unless there's > than 8 mins of sitting on a persons neck and 34 angles and 1234 different officer on the prosecutions side the LEO will get let go.
I'm joyful for the justice and pray this is a start

Unless she was rushing the cop, knife over her head, I'm not sure it'd be justified.
But I'm getting ahead of myself.
