I feel very sorry for Ohio residents

At the same time, Romney's campaign and allied "super PACs" have begun pouring money into Ohio's already-saturated airwaves. Four Ohio media markets were among the nation's top 15 for political ads in September; Obama had the advantage in each one, according to data analyzed by the Wesleyan Media Project, which tracks campaign advertising.

Last week, Romney and his allies drew even. Sources familiar with the ad buys said the Republican campaign doubled its purchases of time going into this weekend, and Democrats expect to be significantly outpaced in coming days.

That's bad news for the state's beleaguered voters. In addition to the constant ads, "every other phone call during the day is politics," sighed Julie Ruskin, an Obama supporter from Symmes Township, another northern Cincinnati suburb.

The ads on both sides mix general campaign themes — jobs and the economy, Medicaid, taxes — with state-specific appeals. Romney has wooed voters in eastern Ohio coal country with attacks on Obama's environmental policies; Obama fired back with an ad featuring miners who say their bosses pressured them to attend a Romney rally. In recent days, Romney also has charged that the administration's defense policies would cost jobs at a General Dynamics tank plant in Lima.

Living in a suburb near Cleveland, I can tell you that the ads are nonstop. I feel sorry for us also. Often, we
put the t.v. on mute...At times there have been as many as 10 ads in a few minutes.

the Toledo market for at least two weeks now, often with one following the other and giving outdated and false data. They're saying stuff like Obama has added more to the deficit than all preceding presidents combined. Manufacturing job losss and unemployment numbers in the ad are based on data from 6-12 months ago when the job picture has improved significantly, especially in manufacturing. Then, the news gerbils keep fueling the fire on the first presidential debate by saying Romney won without adding that he lied continuously in the debate. They treat Paul Ryan like he's a god when he visits the region, instead of the sniveling, lying sack of shit that he is. Nobody made any mention on his "performance" in his debate with Biden, when anyone with at least two brain cells (therein lies the problem with our media) to rub together can tell you that Biden ate Ryan's lunch in the debate.

In this modern age, a six week campaign for the general election would be plenty!

I'd say that political ads currently make up 50-75% of local TV inventories.

I'm watching football, and during the last local break, there was an official Obama ad, followed immediately by a pro-Romney NRA ad, then a really crass and.childish anti-Tammy Baldwin ad from the RNC. All in a row. That's network programming. Local newscasts are even more unwatchable than usual.

We have, literally, had a non stop major election every couple of months since 2010 (because of recalls)! I don't know what an election free local TV broadcast looks like anymore.
We were gone for the past week, and when we returned home we had a weeks worth of calls waiting on our voice mail. 80% of them were election calls (and that is how it has been since Walker was elected). This is one State that will be more excited to see the end of election season, as it will to see who actually gets elected.
I start work at 4:00 am, from home, and I always have the local news station on. In the morning (I am assuming a cheaper ad buy time) for every one local business ad there are 3-4 campaign ads. I am sick of it!!!!!!!!
November 6th can't come soon enough for me.

No matter who the candidate I want it all to be over. In the last commercial break of the Viking game I think 4 out of the 5 commercials were political.

I don't want to watch anything on tv that isn't recorded (so I can ff thru the ads) and the phone ringing (landline!) is a source of dread. We have been polled as often as FOUR times in one day and now they are mostly robo-calls (if you say 'hello' and no one responds immediately, hang up. If it's important, they'll call back)

Since we have a major health issue in our close family, we can't just ignore the phone--it might be serious. But usually--not.
