(9,237 posts)He is known for advocating scumbaggery only to the extent it is necessary to survive and be an effective ruler in the world full of scumbags. But I can easily see him argue, with some success, that excessive scumbaggery leads to ineffective leadership. McConnell definitely belongs to the latter category. If Machiavelli were alive today, he would have surely made a note of this.
