2. Just one, strong jolt. Not a rocker or a roller or a shaker.
Weird earthquake.

3. We had one of those a couple of years ago.
Basically right under us. BAM! and then nothing.

5. Exactly.
Texting with a gal pal who lives a few houses away. She and her hubby were not sure it was an earthquake.

6. Nothing Felt Here In South O.C.
Obviously it was quick. I usually feel them when they're above 3.5 and within 50 miles.

8. I'm in Manhattan Beach, and I sure did feel it!
One fairly large jolt and a couple of little jiggles around that.
It was apparently about 3.6 on the Richter Scale and was about 14 km. deep. |

9. Hi Peggy
Glad it wasn’t a bad one. Still must be nerve wracking! I have never been in an earthquake.

10. My dear mvd! I've lived in CA since I was 13, and these little ones are not a problem!
You really get used to them and realize that nothing bad will happen.
I've been through a couple of big ones and those are a lot scarier. ![]() Our earthquake building standards have gotten very rigorous and unless it's a huge quake right under the house, we will probably be OK. ![]() |

18. I find that I don't feel it unless it's greater than 5.0 or ...
I'm sitting on the couch and the couch shakes. magnifying the shaking.
I was in San Francisco with the Loma Prieta Earthquake hit at 6.9 in 1989 My wife & I were driving home and we were on a cloverleaf off ramp, when it hit. It felt like the earth was moving under the car that we though it was 4 flat tires. |

11. CaliforniaPeggy....
I'm here in Redondo Beach and I totally felt it!
I would've guessed it was stronger on the Richter Scale. It felt pretty big to me although nothing fell off of the wall or shelves.... |

13. It did feel rather strong. And it wasn't particularly shallow.
Not sure why it felt the way it did.
I find earthquakes fascinating! Always loved geology too. ![]() ![]() |

16. I felt it in Culver City.
We've been getting a lot of jolts from the Newport-Inglewood Fault in recent years. This one felt a little like that. It could have been the same fault Our backyard patio looks like a jigsaw puzzle these days. LOL!

17. I thought a 3.7 was just under what most people would feel.
Clearly I'm wrong.
But then, I'm the person who slept through an even stronger aftershock of the Northridge earthquake in 1994. |
