I like some politicians..but rarely love them.. then this happened..

Barack Obama.. and I truly loved that man.. also Joe Biden, and Martin O'Malley.. just love those guys. Not only because we are on the same page on policies.. but because there is something about them that rings true.. they are not in it for the power, but for the love of the average American.

11. From what I know of her, and seeing her personality "in action," so to speak...Katie Porter

...being President is something I could totally get behind. Apart from all her public, political attributes, she is funny as hell. A politician with a truly great sense of humour and a comedic mind would be a great thing.

I saw her absolutely murder on Real Time - had Bill Maher and the whole panel laughing HARD, not just politely. The second time she let loose, she had one of the panelists (can't remember who) laying his forehead on his folded arms on the table, laughing so hard, he was shaking.

She is a pistol.

I'd relish having a casual meal out with. Even if it blew my doctor ordered diet I'd have a pizza or a veggie burger with dijon mustard just to enjoy the company.

9. Pedestals

I might be extra grumpy today ... but one of my pet peeves is our tendency to put politicians on pedestals -- and then get disappointed and angry when they don't live up to our expectations.

I'd much prefer we treat them all as mere mortals. How much better it is when someone is allowed to say "I don't know" or even "I was wrong" and not have it destroy their career? Compare that with the former guy, who would never admit to making a mistake, never apologize and always had to appear so much better than the rest of us?

Obama, Biden and O'Malley are all good people. But please excuse me if I sit out on helping to lift them up onto a pedestal.

But of course, I agree that these guys are much better than the majority of the self-selected mentally ill who firmly believe they are the best solutions to the world's problems
