Perry Buck announces run for House District 49

Staff reports
Weld County Councilwoman Perry Buck announced her candidacy for Colorado House District 49 this morning, citing her desire to get residents back to work. Buck, a life-insurance agent and a former small business owner, also served in the administration of former Gov. Bill Owens as the Northeast Business Development representative for the Colorado Office of Economic Development.
Coloradans are hurting, Buck said in a news release. As a small business owner and a Colorado native, I understand the needs our state has. I look forward to helping get Colorado back to work. Buck is running for the seat now held by BJ Nikkel, R-Loveland. Nikkel cannot seek re-election in the seat because of new district boundaries.
Buck is the wife of Weld District Attorney Ken Buck (emphasis mine) and has two step-children, Cody, who recently graduated from West Point Academy, and Kaitlin, a junior at Clemson University in South Carolina. House District 49 covers mostly Larimer County as well as Windsor in Weld County. Larimer County resident Vicki Marble announced her candidacy for the seat earlier this week.

Oh, gawd, here we go again! We defeated her husband -- "Vote for me because I don't wear high heels!" -- in his bid for the Senate. We weren't surprised when she was elected to the county commission, this place hasn't allowed anyone but republicans on that board for over twenty years. But this is a woman who joyously received an embrace from Karl Rove at the last RNC, we can't let her take her toxin to the state legislature. We just can't.
