Who is responsible? Is it the gift that keeps on giving - Tr**p? If so - will he be held accountable? What could possibly happen to him?
What about the DOJ employees left over from his administration? Are they responsible? Will they be held accountable?
Can somebody explain to me how we can have what looks like illegal activities going on all over the former guys administration - yet no ever gets held accountable? No one is ever jailed.
This just means to me that the next time the Repugs get in power - that we'll just have a repeat of all this crap.
It's really sad.

(9,998 posts)Nobody will be held accountable. I'll continue saying that until proven wrong.
Still waiting for those in Jr.'s administration to be held accountable.

(9,998 posts)Who else of prominence that was closely aligned with Drumpf, went to jail?
And Manafort got pardoned, and I'm sure is being compensated well for the time he spent behind bars.

(7,488 posts)They didn't go after "leakers". They went after political enemies using the DOJ. So either you don't understand the story and conflated "leaking" with going after political adversaries, or you are deliberately trying to equate Obama and other Democrats with dump's tactics. So which is it?

(33,643 posts)My sense is ... probably not.
This is a 'political transgression', essentially. If Barr were still AG under Biden, I'd say he might fear his job. IF there's holdovers from the Trump admin high up in the DoJ, some might lose their jobs as I suspect some DoJ rules were broken here.
I don't think there's anything more to be done other than that, aside from political consequences ... i.e. if TFG runs again, we can bring up his spying.
That and maybe some stronger/more explicit rules against doing this kind of thing.

(54,770 posts)most, if not all, admins have investigated leaks.
In any event, it seems relatively easy to get a copy of any subpoena, see who signed it, then go from there to find who is behind it.
