(1,652 posts)No drivers were eaten. Hope the kitty gets returned and the driver gets her just desserts. (Or the help she needs)

(14,853 posts)... was abducted when I was a kid. It was an all-black cat which often received compliments for being "pretty" by people who passed by the house, and the cat was friendly toward those strangers since he liked the attention.
It was gone for about four months, and we eventually gave up on the idea of ever recovering it.
Then one day, as my mother was pulling weeds from her flower garden in the front of the house, she kept hearing a cat continuously meowing in the distance and getting closer. She turned around to look, and there was our missing cat bounding towards her with excitement.
I returned home from school later that day, and the cat behaved more like a dog in his excitement to see me. Then he acted the same way towards Dad when he returned home from work.
The cat was definitely cared for during the absence, but probably not always in the way it would've enjoyed since he hated baths. It smelled strong of soap fragrance, and the cat's fur hadn't looked so clean and groomed for years while under our care.
Then the cat returned to his typical behavior by the next day -- eating and lounging around while acting mostly disinterested in us.

There are plenty of homeless, adoptable cats needing homes. Let that driver pay to adopt one of them.
