being created to investigate January 6th, I have a suggestion.
One of the first tasks for the Democrat-majority Commission should be "Rules" to govern how the members will proceed and specifically, WHO IS ON CHARGE, how members may PROPERLY participate and WHAT WILL BE DONE WITH DISRUPTORS and those who repeatedly interrupt or otherwise delay the proceedings or seek to interject matters not relevant to the scope of the investigation.
I suggest that disruptors be admonished once and then removed from the room for one full day.
I'm sure others more experienced in these matters can improve on the above, but that's a start.

(15,124 posts)Propose the rules WE want and adopt them by a party line vote. Does anyone doubt THEY would? Does no one remember what they DID with BenghazI?
Many of us risked our personal safety to create this slim majority and we sure as hell don't want to see it wasted in the name of bipartisan "niceness".

(15,325 posts)Boggels my mind why an accomplished Rep like Eliot Engel was ever targeted for removal.
His role in the 2 impeachment hearings against tFg was remarkable, proffessional & all in unity with his stellar Dem collegues.
This, among his yrs long list of Congressional accomplishments.

(12,646 posts)More likely not to get someone who is inclined to cover up evidence, or is likely to be subject to subpoena.
It will look pretty bad if members of the committee find themselves subject to criminal charges during the hearings.

Most of them think the insurrection was justified.
