More than 100 guns, ammo, body armor seized from El Cajon, Ca, home, owner arrested

A staggering haul of illegal firearms, ammunition and body armor has been seized from an El Cajon home, authorities said Friday. John Fenc, 60, was booked into County Jail on numerous felonies, including illegal firearms, possession of firearm silencers, and illegal assault weapon sales.

On April 23, El Cajon Police officers conducted a traffic stop on El Cajon Boulevard and West Lexington Avenue. Fencl was arrested for possession of a loaded, concealed “ghost” firearm during the traffic stop. Officers also discovered Fencl was on probation from a previous arrest for possessing a loaded gun. Based on his arrest, police believed Fencl might have additional firearms at his home.

On June 28, detectives conducted a probation search of Fencl’s El Cajon home. The probation search revealed a large cache of illegal firearms, body armor, a tear gas grenade, silencers, and several thousand rounds of ammunition. "Some of this ammunition included incendiary, tracer, and armor-piercing ammunition," ECPD said.

The firearms recovered included more than 100 rifles, assault rifles, shotguns, and handguns. At least eight of these firearms were functional, un-serialized “ghost guns”. Detectives also found tools used in the manufacturing of firearms. Fencl was also charged with committing a felony while on bail.

They'll use the excuse that jails are full and let him go.

Either way, lock him up. If it's the latter, investigate his associates thoroughly to find others of his criminal ilk.

Even in an actual armed standoff, how they fuck can you use 100 guns? A few, maybe, but over 100? This makes absolutely no sense. Is this something like Imelda Marcos and shoes? Seriously, WTF?

We have been reliably informed in debate it's like screw-drivers: if you've got a phillips and a flat-head and think you're set, that's foolish.

There are literally dozens of uses that each require a different fire-arm, and a man must be prepared for any eventuality....

It is, indeed, at best, quite like Imelda and her shoes.

13. Speaking strictly for myself, I at one point had just over a hundred firearms. I collect them,

trade them, invest in them, etc. The focus of my collection is military handguns and rifles of the late 19th to mid-20th Century. The profits I've realized help fund my hobby of world travel.

At this point I'm down to 30 or so, and will likely continue to thin the collection out, although I do still purchase fireams that strike me as amusing to own, or ones that I'm confident will go up substantially in value. I'm not getting any younger, though, and since I have no one to leave them to, I'll likely be down to just a few in a couple of decades.

Bear in mind I'm not defending this individual. Based upon the article, he appears to have been in violation of numerous laws and should be prosecuted accordingly.

When his wife and son-in-law were cleaning out the garage, they found 11,000 rounds of ammunition.

Hells Angels border smuggler division and some of the cartels worked out of El Cajon from the late 70's through at least the 2k's - it's still pretty easy to get ammo and guns in East County "if you know a guy".

Burglaries for guns as well as money is still a big deal in the area, also. I've known more than a couple legit gun owners burglarized once they started publicizing the 2nd amendment/NRA BS via bumper sticker or Social Media because "Democrats are gonna take our Gunz away."

The gangs and druggies just wait until Jimbo Gungeoneer's truck is gone overnight and break in looking for the gun safe and any other valuables they can sell quick.

These "ghost guns" aren't a new phenomenon there either.
