Does anyone know why the National Guard members are being sent to the TX Southern border...

from states with Rep. governors? Does anyone know what they are doing and if that is even legal?

Is it true that Iowa NG were sent in 2020? Did Trump or Abbot request them?

Makes no sense to me, but I see more states are lining up to do the same.

try to show that Biden has created (or allowed) a "disaster" to occur on the border, and that only through the deft decisions of Republican protectors of the reich was the crisis resolved (or diverted).

And too, some of the governors (Noem of South Dakota, Desantis of Florida) plan to use this as an indicator of their fitness to assume the mantle of Republican leadership when Trump expires.

There's more to it, of course, but that's the gist as I understand it.

Are they forming a line at the border? Are they driving around? What? Are they all going to the same spot?

There must be hundreds down there now.

Iowa will send up to 30 state police officers on a two-week deployment to Texas after Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds agreed to a request from GOP governors to help fight crime at the U.S.-Mexico border, officials said Thursday.

It looks like we'll be seeing a lot of these types of shenanigans until the next election is over. How did we ever get into perpetual electioneering? It goes on forever.

I can imagine the California Highway Patrol, the Oregon State police, and the Washington State Patrol setting up a roadblock on Interstate 90 near Spearfish.

Cars would be stopped. Drivers asked about their destination. Cars with Trump or Q-Anon regalia would be turned around.

Sounds more like a hot issue, such as abortion. They don't care about abortion, but want to divide voters and keep things stirred up. They are good at it.
