Trump's trade war with China drastically reduced availability of semiconductors:

Trump imposed 25% trade war tariffs on semiconductors beginning in July 2018. The US now imports **half as many** semiconductors from China as it did pre-trade war. (That's billions of fewer chips).

Those missing chips have NOT been replaced by imports from elsewhere... 3/

nothing else makes sense. Why would Trump penalize Taiwan (TSMC) while doing this bogus tradewar with China?

cost US farmers their largest soy bean market (China) and most of their corn markets.
It took those Trump voting farmers years to corral that market, and then they lost it to Brazil,
and it may take many years to get at least some of it back.
From what I can tell, every trade war deal that Trump made was a bust and f'ed our economy.
