He's back to the same 'some days I'm on, some days I'm not' mode with Current TV that he was in with MSNBC before the breakup. Is it because he's still feuding with Current TV? I've got nothing against David Shuster but it's annoying to tune to Countdown just to see if Keith has decided to be on the air or not.

(89,246 posts)the election coverage. but then he wasn't on yesterday so i don't know.....
i still kind of wish he was at MSNBC and Schuster also. i liked his interaction with others like Maddow and those he didn't get along so well with like Matthews.

(10,117 posts)...this week is a pre-planned vacation week, but that he would also be working on the upcoming primary election coverage which he is in charge of...starting with S. Carolina and straight through until November.

(75,480 posts)the last I read there, the difficulties had been ironed out, but yes, I'm wondering too.
You know though, Current TV should just do what he wants. Sure, he's probably a prima donna, but even in the opera a diva that is box office gold gets everything she wants.

(24,331 posts)Last I heard, the ratings on the "new" Countdown were down to about 50,000 viewers in the "demo," compared to 150,000 when he premiered and 850,000 on MSNBC.

(75,480 posts)Keith. I never watched it and now I watch the two hours of him and Cenk. He is doing what he's hired to do. MSNBC was worried enough to move Ed opposite him instead of Lawrence O'Donnell. I believe if they let him do what he feels is best, they will win in the end.

(75,480 posts)I'm very disappointed when he's not on. Only he can pull it off.

(24,331 posts)The question is, how much are they spending to have Keith there? It's pretty inevitable that it's going to be a "loss leader" for them so to speak, meaning they can't make a profit off of the show. But there's a big difference between an unprofitable show that brings in eyeballs, and one that doesn't, and lately Keith's been on the latter side of the equation. It's probably a big part of what's sparking the tension between him and Current.

(75,480 posts)I don't think money is an issue and they certainly signed contracts before he went on the air meaning they were willing to pay him what he wanted. I have noticed a bump in their commercials so he is bringing in money.

(10,117 posts)...lineup, that is not bad. He's competing with shows that are cable lineup regulars. The more people who call and demand Current, the more that will help the ratings.

(6,829 posts)I am powerless to get it on Charter Cable. I filled out the forms on currenttv.com and i've made calls now and then.
it may be satellite for me soon, as Keith Olbermann is absolutely the best journalist on TV and is not to be missed!
How many cable homes even get Current, anyway?

(75,480 posts)I had satellite. It cost more a month but I got so much more for my money and the reception was so much better that they finally got satellite because they kept seeing how much better it was every time they came over to my place.

(75,480 posts)Free Speech TV is a must have. I love the fact that they televise Thom Hartmann on it. I love his radio show, but the local radio station is so low powered, it's really hard to hear him over the interference and static. On FSTV, it's clear as a bell and I can hear everything. Also, I can DVR it if I have to work or make an appointment. I don't miss either Thom or Keith that way.
