Those who say the GOP no longer has a "core principle" are wrong. It is this, succinctly stated:

"If we call an apple a banana many many times, Americans will it will swear it has elongated, turned yellow, lost its seeds and is much easier to peel."

If telling the truth results in the above - they will tell the truth
If lying results in the above - they will lie.

Ultimately everything the republicans do is toward the goal of keeping wealth and power in the hands of the few.
