This is the John McLaughlin Rump is referring to, not the PBS "Bye, bye!" guy. StrictlyRockers Jul 2021 #8

We should not act like him and wind up telling lies because we failed to do any research.

It's a different John McLaughlin than George II is referring to. The one Rump is talking about is alive and well: https://twitter.com/jmclghln

Getting something wrong & lying aren't the same thing. This standard of which you speak is capricious and arbitrary if you don't make a distinction between deliberate untruth & a mistake.
Comparing anyone to T***p is unwarranted.
He didn't get things wrong because he didn't do enough research. He didn't care if he was wrong, and often knew he was telling a lie.
Not sure how you can reasonably make the comparison.
Lastly, who cares what John McWhatever said.
T got more votes than in 2016 & still lost.
So, this particular McLaughlin doesn't know what he's talking about.

....because there was nothing else going on. Couldn't take it much longer.

That's not a word for word quote, but the fact that he spoke to John McLaughlin AFTER the 2016 election is what got me. I knew he'd already died.

George II is thinking of the wrong John McLaughlin. Pollster John McLaughlin is alive and well.

It was Hillary who got 65.8 million votes in 2016; the former guy polled 62.9 million. In 2021, the former guy got 74.2 million votes, while President Biden and Vice President Harris won the votes of 81.2 million Americans.

If you want to do the math, the former guy increased his vote count by slightly more than 11 million votes, while the Democrats polled 16 million more votes than they did in 2016. By any measure, the former guy got creamed in 2020.

If you are concerned about spreading misinformation, you may want to consider removing this post, George II.

Ironically, this post about Trump spreading fake news is, itself, fake news.
