As the World Burns...

Im in the drought and heat affected area of the west right now, and I am sure that each region of the US and the world is suffering with the increased climate shift...

So what are we doing about it? or, more to the point....what are THEY doing about it?

The oil co's, the governments, the rich, anyone else who is part of the infrastructure of trashing the planet...what the hell are they doing about it?
Do they not understand that a dying planet means THEY lose too?

I guess I'm just hot and cranky, but this heat has me all depressed on top of everything. I really fear for what the next 5 years will hold...nowhere is safe from this disaster that is literally ON us ALREADY

Just wish we could get around to dismantling the machine sooner than later. Making "climate goals" for less emissions by 2030 is too little too late IMO

sorry to be such a debbie downer

of climate change in my lifetime; let future generations deal with it. The sad truth is that if you do have enough money, you probably can avoid the effects, at least until things get so bad for the less affluent that they start sharpening pitchforks and building guillotines.

locally, hawk babies are jumping from nests desperate to escape the heat of their nests. Wildlife management and I guess the public, are rescuing as many as they can. If I didn't catch if it's our Red Tails, but that's my guess. I fear for all the birds. Our ravens close to our house fledged last month, and have been returning off and on, so I know they're okay. We have several feeders up, including hummers, and 5 water sources going. The birds are very stressed, except the hummers, they seem to be okay.

Grief especially for the helpless wild things we are tormenting unnecessarily.

Trying to take good care of our little 13 acre patch of the west. It's a lot of responsibility.

Until people who are making the decisions, come home from work every day and literally see their plants crisped by the intense sun and heat, they will drag their feet and deny. Until those people making the decisions start finding dead animals from heat, fires and dehydration, they will drag their feet and deny. Maybe even after they see these things with their own eyes, they will drag their feet and deny, because they're making a lot of money to drag their feet and deny.

If we are past the point of no return they will try and teap everything they can and hope they can ride it out. That is their sick mindset.
