'Killing kids to own the libs': Americans horrified after Tennessee shuts down all child vaccination

'Killing kids to own the libs': Americans horrified after Tennessee shuts down all child vaccination programs

Tennessee Republicans' war against childhood vaccinations reached a new level on Tuesday after Tennessean reported that the state's health department "will halt all adolescent vaccine outreach – not just for coronavirus, but all diseases – amid pressure from Republican state lawmakers."

The halt to child vaccine programs comes just one day after Tennessee's top vaccine official was fired for what she claimed were her efforts to promote COVID-19 vaccinations for teenagers.

That firing came weeks after Republican Tennessee State Rep. Scott Cepicky held a public hearing in which he attacked the department for making fliers encouraging "impressionable" teens to get vaccinated.

controversial ideologically for a long time. Some may feel that not allowing adolescents to make health decisions is a moral crime, but criminalizing it might be problematic. After all, who'd be arrested and by whom? The state officials who voted not to allow it, with the approval of many parents and other groups?

A bunch of psychopaths,
narcissists and authoritarians.

They openly display what they've always been nowadays.

They have no compassion, empathy,or moral character.

They do not have the traits that make human beings humane.

They suck at being people.

They need to be put out of any place of power.

And I think candidates need to have sociopathy testing to make sure they never get power again.

You cannot run a government without compassion, morality or empathy.

Dark triad personalities are the biggest danger we face politically.

7. The Scopes Trial, formally known as The State of Tennessee v. John Thomas Scopes
Tue Jul 13, 2021, 04:40 PM
Jul 2021

and commonly referred to as the Scopes Monkey Trial, was an American legal case in July 1925 in which a high school teacher, John T. Scopes, was accused of violating Tennessee's Butler Act, which had made it unlawful to teach human evolution in any state-funded school.[1] The trial was deliberately staged in order to attract publicity to the small town of Dayton, Tennessee, where it was held. Scopes was unsure whether he had ever actually taught evolution, but he incriminated himself deliberately so the case could have a defendant.[2][3]

Scopes was found guilty and fined $100 (equivalent to $1,500 in 2020), but the verdict was overturned on a technicality. The trial served its purpose of drawing intense national publicity, as national reporters flocked to Dayton to cover the big-name lawyers who had agreed to represent each side. William Jennings Bryan, three-time presidential candidate and former Secretary of State, argued for the prosecution, while Clarence Darrow served as the defense attorney for Scopes. The trial publicized the Fundamentalist–Modernist controversy, which set Modernists, who said evolution was not inconsistent with religion,[4] against Fundamentalists, who said the Word of God as revealed in the Bible took priority over all human knowledge. The case was thus seen both as a theological contest and as a trial on whether modern science should be taught in schools.

It's of course still deplorable but nowhere near as bad as the click-bait headline presents the matter

Apart from CV19 the most common 'teen vaccine' would be the HPV one.

about the extent of the TN DOH reaction that included her firing:

https://www.knoxnews.com/story/news/health/2021/07/12/covid-19-tennessee-fired-vaccine-official-michelle-fiscus-fears-state/7945291002/

What’s more is that the leadership of the Tennessee Department of Health has reacted to the sabre rattling from the Government Operations Committee by halting ALL vaccination outreach for children. Not just COVID-19 vaccine outreach for teens, but ALL communications around vaccines of any kind. No back-to-school messaging to the more than 30,000 parents who did not get their children measles vaccines last year due to the pandemic. No messaging around human papilloma virus vaccine to the residents of the state with one of the highest HPV cancer rates in the country. No observation of National Immunization Awareness Month in August. No reminders to the parents of teens who are late in receiving their second COVID-19 vaccine. THIS is a failure of public health to protect the people of Tennessee and THAT is what is “reprehensible”. When the people elected and appointed to lead this state put their political gains ahead of the public good, they have betrayed the people who have trusted them with their lives.

True, the vaccines are still available, but the informational outreach programs that reminded parents to see that their children of any age are vaccinated on time for anything -- gone. That is a big deal, and a huge failure on the part of TN DOH. Also true is that the Raw Story article sensationalized more than it informed.

Vaccines weren't a polarizing political issue until TFG decided that COVID denial was the best way keep the good economy going to help his reelection. See how that turned out: 600k+ Americans dead, the economy tanked anyway, and TFG lost the election. All because they still can't admit that TFG (and consequently they, for believing him) might have been wrong.

Dunno about TN, but here in California you have to show MMR vaccination or a blood titer in order to work in a hospital. It's part of your documentation, as important as your license. Man, where can you go to live nowadays that isn't filled with idiots?

And, why is it that the cream of the idiot crop always rise to hold power over other, normal people? Because we are not politicians, busy raising families, working on careers, and we looked away for one tenth of a second?? My goodness, surely they can't mean they will not vaccinate against childhood diseases? They can't mean that.
