Pastor pleas for 'mercy' after 125 in his 'masks optional' summer camp get Covid

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/pastor-pleas-covid-summer-camp-b1884232.html

Pastor Bruce Wesley of Clear Creek Community Church prays for God to stop the coronavirus pandemic after more than 125 people contract the virus following his church’s mask-optional student summer camp

Snip
Lord, we didn't want to be in the news, at least not for this, maybe for serving or some extreme generosity, but not this," he said. "So we ask for your mercy. We ask for your healing for all of those who became sick with this virus and for their families who've have been caring for them as well. We pray for complete recovery so that people don't have any lingering effects, and we pray that you would put a stop to the spread of this virus."

Snip
The church issued a statement last week saying that a second wave of infections was afflicting its congregation following the camp, which ended on 27 June.

No acceptance of their mistake and painful actions. Just prayers for those who were detrimentally affected by the Church's policy. Absolving themselves of any and all responsibility.

God gave you the ability to reason, experts to give you advice, and the material resources to follow that advice. And what did you do with those gifts? You spit in his eye, turned your back on them, and acted a fool. Your words now are hollow, your actions have told a different tale.

But the Church is very adept at using "forgiveness" and "acceptance" as the way they avoid responsibility for their actions. Also, never ever accepting responsibility. They would also use rhetoric about "faith" with those who were detrimentally affected, "God did this as a test." "Your faith was not strong." etc.

Believe it their Deacons are running to each and every person affected and using similar language and rhetoric.

...did you hear the one about Job? God, having a strangely human need to show someone up no matter the consequences, decides to take up the bet from the fiery one in the basement and ruins Job’s life by killing all his family and livestock and making him sick. Then God got to say “See, he still loves me. Told ya so.”

If that is the God you are praying to, you’re fucked.
