but you see how mandated policies go...plugging our ears and mumbling, La-la-la, I deny it - what are you doing to do about it, just make me" isn't a sane human answer from within the impenetrable box in some heads who won't let Pandora's lid open at all.

One can only do what one can with commitment to reduce use, recycle, or put one's dollar to work on any one or more of myriad small projects to educate and effect changes. It's truly too late for radical shifts away from the conveniences of living in the 21st century, filled with distractions that do force most of us to put those thoughts away just for a bit in that box that has no room for constant denial, especially when we've been told not to even sweat the small stuff that looms larger in our individual lives than what we need to beat an angry Mother Nature every moment, for the week or quarter at our jobs, or for the benefit of a solid family life in the years going forward. The anxiety isn't healthy. The grief that we're definitely not enough to calm the consequences is very heavy on the best of us when dealing with the worst of us and their undertakings that will bring mass suffering! I'm sorry if more is quite beyond the scope of my individual wisdom.

Science charged forward to meet consumer global demand for "better" products...We can only try being good stewards of our own environments while protecting income sources, none so very different around the world when one considers basic needs...it's going to be one long continuing haul everywhere on the planet, I'm guessing. Perhaps like most everything else we'll continue to be reactionary, 20/20 vision will bring policies, laws, partnerships, and some will always attempt to circumvent. Perhaps we will eventually see some logic in preserving or reforming our way of life, but sacrifice voting rights and democracy - nope - not happening. As the human and creature casualties are surely going to mount up, in a divisive world of hostilities and shortages, we must have hope!

I am sure, however, why I do it. I've got to prepare for my family (and possibly a couple of friends). Hopefully, I'll prepare well and help some of those I love survive -or at least survive a bit more easily.

They'll be plenty of time for grief as the catastrophe unfolds.
