Watching the birth of new disinfo campaign

I'm a daily reader of FinViz news. It offers a mix of real stockmarket news, along with trial balloons from ZeroHedge, a frequent launching pad of disinfo campaigns in the US from Russia.

Today's trial balloon is that there will be a general labor strike in the US on October 15. The only other corroborating source is a sketchy Reddit page. This will get amplified in coming days.

One method for dealing with the "Firehose of Falsehoods" propaganda tactic is to innoculate early against new campaigns, to discredit them.

As Rachel likes to say, "Watch this space".

I don't click on their links very often. This is one of the sites that hires teens in Macedonia to create "news".

You can follow their latest "lead stories" in the right hand column of FinViz, by the 0 icon. If I want to see if it's true, I then google the topic to find a more reputable source.
