years to live. The flooding in Germany and NYC is to flood the tunnels to rescue all the trapped mutant children. The number on the back of your birth certificate entitles you to your share of a worldwide bank account. And, per a conversation with a friend just now, nobody who took the vaccine can get into heaven, as they are now subhuman.
You are welcome. I am going to go find my bottle of plonk.

(1,261 posts)But his cult/the GOP will run Trump as along as they prop him up, clean the drool off and make his mouth move in time a recording of an earlier speech. They're all the same anyway.
But has something come out recently the indicates his chance of passing is more likely?

(7,510 posts)The social media videos are pretty slickly produced.
I think that they get ad revenues, but that they also develop followings that buy other products like books and subscriptions. Some have pretty straightforward appeals for contributions, especially the quasi-religious types.
Some are probably also the outer layer of recruitment mechanisms which identify the more susceptible members of the population to be cultivated by the induction process.
We are turning out about 100,000 bachelor's degrees in Communications and Media Studies annually. They have to find some way to earn a living.

It doesn't matter if only half the population takes it seriously, that is still enough people to keep society divided and at each other's throats until it all erupts in violence.

So much of the rest of QMAGAt crazy is nonlinear warfare and reflexive control amplified now by social media
Create a fog of war, destroy valid measurements and norms, zig when all else in a normal predictive system says you will ZAG.

The Hidden Author of Putinism
How Vladislav Surkov invented the new Russia
https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/11/hidden-author-putinism-russia-vladislav-surkov/382489/
I am the author, or one of the authors, of the new Russian system, Vladislav Surkov told us by way of introduction. On this spring day in 2013, he was wearing a white shirt and a leather jacket that was part Joy Division and part 1930s commissar. My portfolio at the Kremlin and in government has included ideology, media, political parties, religion, modernization, innovation, foreign relations, and ...here he pauses and smilesmodern art. He offers to not make a speech, instead welcoming the Ph.D. students, professors, journalists, and politicians gathered in an auditorium at the London School of Economics to pose questions and have an open discussion. After the first question, he talks for almost 45 minutes, leaving hardly any time for questions after all. Its his political system in miniature: democratic rhetoric and undemocratic intent.

(63,221 posts)It's all so twisted and complicated. At the heart of it all is the unquenchable thirst for power and control. And what is behind that? I think it's fear. Fear and ego.
All these little power plays and manipulations are set in motion by individuals or groups of individuals who are driven primarily by fear. I would say hatred as well, but I think behind most hatred is also fear. As the world becomes more frightening and unstable it will only get worse.

(43,333 posts)Obviously the number one nation doing this is Russia. They want to keep ratcheting up internal, pre-existing American (and other nation states they deem as threats) divisions until the ties that bind the union together are rent asunder and the country plunges into some sort of civil war, hot or cold, and starts to break apart.
They have multiple tracks to place the train of national dismemberment upon, including the outward, national projection of a theocratic, RW fascist national government, bolstered by a shedload of TW, theocratic, fascist state and local governments, that will try to nationalise the tyranny to the point the big blue states (and some small ones) start to REALLY consider secession.
Do you really think that IF Roe v Wade is overturned (for but one example),and then, instead of devolution to the states to decide abortion law, the theofash Rethugs attempt to forcibly outlaw it nationwide, perhaps escalating it up to the point of sending Federal troops into say, Oregon, or California, or Vermont, etc, that those states will idly sit by and allow themselves to be overrun?
They don't even necessarily have to use troops. They can try all sorts of shit (if they have a pliant RW theofash Federal Court system that allows them to get away with it) that will cause tremendous unrest as well.
100 million or so US citizens are on a scientifically designed parallel tract, a completely separate reality, and one that is LOADED up daily with ever-increasing violent rhetoric and hate at a multiplicity of levels, superstructures, and outlets of dissemination. The centre can but hold so long unless those thousands of firehoses of shitbaggery are neutered somehow, made far less potent, unable to complete their task of the annihilation of objective truth, and yes, annihilation of the union of the states itself.

(63,221 posts)In fact they have mastered the art. They have played us like a fiddle. I was just examining their motivation.
Despite the portrayal of Russia as being these big, important bullies, with a powerful strongman as leader, they are really an insecure, fearful nation and government. They have nothing to offer and have created the illusion of having a powerful, wealthy nation, whereas the truth is that all the money and power lies in the hands of very few and the rest of the country lives in relative poverty and misery.

"When we got to the cafeteria, I saw that it, too, was haunted by its Soviet past. Grouchy middle-aged women in hairnets dished out bland, greasy cuisine. If it werent for students tapping at their smartphones, it would have been hard to tell that the 21st century had ever arrived. I sat down at a table with a team from Astrakhan and told them I had been to their hometown once, a romantically shabby old city by the Caspian Sea. The students smirked. Everyone wants to leave, a third-year named Anton said.
Theres nothing to do there, his teammate Sergei added."
"In the same way that Russians overestimate America, seeing it as an all-powerful orchestrator of global political developments, Americans project their own fears onto Russia, a country that is a paradox of deftness, might, and profound weaknessunshakably steady, yet somehow always teetering on the verge of collapse. Like America, it is hostage to its peculiar history, tormented by its ghosts."
