(4,220 posts)He has great influence over many many people with his podcast. He said don't get vaccinated and then kinda backtracked. His go to defense is "I am a moron, don't listen to me" but they really do!!! "What do I know, I'm a comedian"...
He is totally responsible the same way Fucker Carlson and Faux News is for the ant-vaccine assholes now driving up "the numbers"!!!!
He has a lot of power over exactly the segment that needs to get vaccinated.
FUCK HIM!

(52,205 posts)I'd say that he says out loud things that others would keep to themselves, and if that's what he means by "no filter", ok I guess.
But Donnie's speech is actually quite disciplined in his own psychotic world. *everything* he says has an agenda. It's always trying to create a world where he's the greatest at everything, where he is trying to convince others to spin things in his favor, repeat his lies, think what he wants people to think.
Which means there most definitely *is* a filter. Anything that makes Donnie look bad is completely unacceptable for conversation. There are plenty of topics and people he will not talk about because it doesn't serve his image or his agenda.

(22,034 posts)Not having "filters" is a bit too vague especially with regards to Trump.
Trump ALWAYS has an agenda. As you wrote, unblock, Trump is always inflating his own worth whether it's financial or "intellectual," (it's hard to think of Trump as an intellectual!). Trump definitely has filters that keep out any criticism, negativity or anything that contradicts the false "reality" Trump is trying to fashion around himself.
My sincerest hope is that the legal investigations into Trump & Co. will expose his criminality once and for all for the world to see what a phony and a loser that Trump has always been.

But he does hear it, otherwise he would not know to defend himself against it. And he always defends himself.

(35,660 posts)There are high self monitors and low self monitors.
High self monitors are acutely aware of the image they project. Low self monitors are not. They don't have the capability of understanding how they come off to others.
So is Trump a high self monitor or a low self monitor ? I say low because he lacks empathy, the ability to understand how another would feel. You need to be empathetic before you can adjust the communications message to something another would find more appealing, sympathetic, or whatever your communication goal is.
Another reason it cannot be a filter is that filters require the ability to put into action in various situations. Filters are applied. Example: a police officer has to address members of a college community about a crime wave that is currently going on. He shows up in a dark blue sweater, shirt, and trousers. Or he shows up in a police uniform. Which choice would indicate he is a high self monitor, or aware of the message he is projecting?
Trump is notoriously undisciplined, so a filter would be too rigorous for him. He could do it no more easily than he could read a two-page, single-spaced memo. Just beyond his ability.
I believe Trump acts this way because of a personality disorder.

(52,205 posts)that Donnie's mental illnesses and such were well suited for provided tv entertainment, but poorly suited for running even just a business, never mind a country.

(62,270 posts)Look for Trump related episodes.
Jillette went on the show to promote Penn and Teller and show that he had business acumen. Trump hated Jillette for that reason. Because Penn really did come from nothing, unlike Trump.

(35,660 posts)3 of usable tape from 12hrs of taping!
He just runs his mouth with no filters and even after 12 hours people just say so what.

(32,634 posts)He probably couldn't even read a script. He probably couldn't read cue cards either. The showrunners couldn't get Chump to do anything right, so they just let him talk forever. Whatever crap came out of his mouth, and there were a lot of mean, racist, misogynist things too. They taped it all and then they edited down after he was done. What an awful way to run a show!
Problem is, Chump always believed he was doing great. No, the show was great in spite of him, not because of him. (Actually I didn't think it was "great" at all - I hated that show. But it was successful on the air for 8 or 9 years.)
Because of all those wasted hours of taping, there have been rumors for years that Chump's racism and hatred of women would all come out when someone leaked the tapes. It still may happen, who knows?

say that he'd sh_t his diaper and they'd have to stop the taping to clean him up. IIRC it was one of the guys from Howard Stern's show, or maybe it was on the Stern show?

(63,221 posts)Here is a quote...
"Casler went on to say he saw this "firsthand" while working on The Celebrity Apprentice a decade ago, alleging that Trump's assistant Keith Schiller was in charge of changing the real estate mogul's diapers and making sure he does not embarrass himself in public.
"You've seen it happen while he's in office," he added, claiming Trump soiled himself on at least two occasions: once during a meeting with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan and another time at a press conference with Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California.
Trump is sometimes "unaware" of what's happening, Casler alleged, so aides and members of his family have to intervene.
The president often soils his diapers "in a rage," he claimed.
"He'll start to freak out, you know. One time, there was the word 'arbitrage' on a cue card and he started screaming that the script department was setting him up... and he just freaked out and then very loudly evacuated his bowels and you could smell it," he said.
Casler added that Trump and his aides have desperately tried to hide this problem, but alleged the outlines of the diapers are visible in many videos available online."
Apparently it's from all the drugs he's taken over the years. He has no control over his bowels anymore. Just one more charming fact about the apricot hellbeast.
