Now, ya need an appointment. But try calling to get one. After about 2 minutes of phone tree bullshit and that what you are looking for may be on IRS.Gov, you get to the "Press 1 to schedule an appointment at an IRS office."
So ya press ! and wait. Two or three minutes later, phone lines are busy, please try again at a later date."
I am trying to get copies of paid receipts for from 2290 for the last three years. This form deals with tax on heavy duty trucks. The taxes were paid through the accountant's office but he died and we cannot get the info. from him.

(12,358 posts)To get the license, he needed his SS card --- part of 6 points bullshit. Couldn't find the SS card.
SS instructions were to put his birth certificate and copy of current NJ license in a box outside of the SS office.
Those and a replacement SS card were mailed to him two weeks later.

(20,159 posts)the budget for the IRS for YEARS. The other issue us that they haven't been able to get everyone who was furloughed because of COVID-19 to come back to work. Some have taken other jobs, some have retired early, some just decided they don't want to deal with pissed off people all the time.
