on their platform is "killing people" was that Joe was trying to make facebook the scapegoat because he failed to reach his goal of getting at least 70% of Americans vaccinate at least once. I think 67% had been vaccinated by the goal date, in other words, we just missed it.

It occurred to me then that, could that also be the reason that FOX, OAN, NewMax and all the other right wingers, have continued with their campaign of denigrating and sowing doubt about the vaccines?

Could it be such a simple but vile, irresponsible and deadly set of talking points repeated over and over, 24/7 was aimed at keeping Joe Biden from reaching his stated vaccination percentage goal?

Could they be that small, vicious and petty? Probably so.

3. That line of argument from FB was a total non sequitur, and for good reason.

They cannot directly refute Biden's comment, because it is true.

1) Facebook is spreading falsehoods about COVID and the vaccines.
2) People are acting (or not acting) on that misinformation.
3) People are dying due to those (in)actions.

What do you do when you've been called out and cannot deny it? The old "Look! Over there!" gambit. So they find a "flaw" in Biden and try to divert attention to that. Or try to, anyhow.

The reality is that whether the vaccine rate was 67% or 70% or 73% or even 90% Biden's statement would still be true because #1, 2, and 3 would still be true.

They haven't gotten better, they've only gotten worse. Good numbers for Joe means better chances for Democrats in 2022 and 2024. Driving those numbers down is paramount to them.
