Rant on Doing Social Distancing and Being Fully Vaccinated

I feel that right now is heading like the bad old days of last year, with me moving towards self-imposed social distancing again. There is one AA meeting that I have to attend in person, but I want that group to reimpose their mask mandate because the case spike is out of control.

All of the college students are coming back, making the area where I live into a COVID hotspot. I am fully vaccinated and very healthy, but I don't take any chances with the virus. Even though I might not even feel COVID, it could use me to spread the virus even more, and somebody will die because I didn't take proper social distancing measures.

At this point, I don't fear the virus and getting sick. What I fear is spreading to other people more than what happens to me, so I feel that I need to reimpose voluntary social distancing measures again.

What the government does is not my responsibility. I am only responsible for my behavior. If I got my way, all of the old school restrictions from California's tier system would come back until past January. That means cases level out, and the virus does not become an out-of-control killer.

But the people don't want my draconian ways, and I am powerless over people, places, and things. So I do my part and leave everybody else alone unless you think I should complain to Gavin Newsom to reimpose the tier system.
