The USDA will also move to restore the two-decades-old Roadless Rule protections at Tongass, which were stripped in 2020 by the Trump administration.

(86,330 posts)This has been such a long fight, was and a heated mode back when I was in grad school and before. It's about time the Roadless Rule was reinstated, maybe there will be more attention paid to its purpose.
I went to a bunch of hearings about that back in the 90s, it was a bold move and a good move, I thought and it was done by the book. That was the cool thing about Clinton's admin., he did things by the book, without a lot of variance in the methodology and he got some good things accomplished like the Roadless Rule.
