We've now heard that Trump described Kavanaugh as someone who "wouldn't even be in a law firm. Who would have had him? Nobody. Totally disgraced. Only I saved him.
So the question is: Why was Trump pushing a SCOTUS nominee who he saw as a totally disgraced loser who needed 'saving' - and why was Trump so willing to 'save' him?
Yeah, WE here know the obvious answer. But I'd like the GOP to explain this in full detail - along with a full explanation as to how Kavanaugh's many debts magically disappeared upon his nomination.
As always, the devil is in the details - and I'd like a detailed explanation from the PTB-in-the-GOP as to why their "pResident" was so insistent that a "totally disgraced loser" be appointed to the highest court in the land.
It would seem that in appointing Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Trump forgot the bleedin' obvious: He'd given Kavanaugh a position he couldn't fire him from - ergo, Kavanaugh has no incentive to do the Orange Anus's bidding out of fear of losing his job.
The only thing Kavanaugh does have to fear is an investigation into how he wound up on the Supreme Court in the first place.

Congress was denied documents they were entitled to also. I thought all we might need was Congress getting those now that they should be able to. No one has said if Biden can get all that information from the FBI investigation. I'm assuming he can.
If Kavanaugh really is a sex offending alcohol junkie with a gambling habit, there should have been quite a few people coming forward.

(3,239 posts)If they ever do answer it will probably be along the lines of "Trump says stuff" or "it's not illegal to appoint a total disgrace to the Supreme Court".

(15,534 posts)As a 35-year retired HR professional who hired people at various types of organizations throughout my career I can tell you that you are 100% correct. I witnessed a few candidates for jobs that did or said some fairly unacceptable answers to basic interview questions, but I can honestly say that not once did I ever see anyone cry.

(21,998 posts)There are only three ways he could leave the Court: impeachment & conviction (ain't gonna happen), resignation (a real long shot) or death.
If confronted, Justice "I like beer" would just deny and stonewall. I don't expect him to resign and Senate Republicans will never vote to convict one of their own.
