OK gun range that called itself a "Muslim-free" business, closes. hate doesn't pay

‘Muslim-free’ gun range closes in Oklahoma. ‘Looks like hate does not pay’

A shooting range and once self-proclaimed “Muslim-free” zone is up for sale in Oklahoma, following a years-long legal battle brought by a Muslim resident

.----------
Muslim community leaders and others aren’t shedding any tears over the latest news.

“Well, well, well. What do we have here? Looks like hate does not pay after all,” Adam Soltani, director of the Council on American Islamic Relations’ Oklahoma chapter, said on Facebook.

-----------

Save Yourself Gun Club — formerly Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gun Range — made headlines in 2015 over a sign posted at the business that read: “This privately owned business is a Muslim free establishment!!! We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone!!! Thank you!”

Several months later, Raja’ee Fatihah, a Muslim man, filed a lawsuit against Save Yourself, alleging the owners made good on the promise of their infamous sign, and kicked him out after he came to the range because of his faith. Fatihah said he had heard about the sign, and that it was the reason he chose to go to Save Yourself Survival.

1. We don't have a "hate free" gun range around here (New York!)

There's one close enough that I pass it every time I drive north - and there's a big banner over the entrance that says "Congratulations Elise" (Stefanik). They would not appreciate the things I say aloud every time I drive by.

This is the only photo I could find, must have been published when it was about to open. But that's the building, here in NY-21 - just picture a banner saying "Congratulations Elise" in that big space over the entrance!

was always Dem for 60 straight years before Stefanik, and other than 8 years of Jacob Javits (oh, if only most of the Rethugs today were like HIM!) and a 2 year blip term of Martin Ansorge (1921-1923), it was straight Dem for over 100 years.

5. There are actually 2 challengers to Stefanik now. Looks like there could be a Democratic primary

And I wouldn't be surprised if a few more names turned up. The last time, there were about 10 Democrats in the primary and one other Republican!

And New York 21 had a long-time moderate Democrat as a Rep, Bill Owens, but he retired in 2015. He chose a successor, Aaron Woolf, and I went to the meet-up where Rep. Owens introduced him and I was impressed, I made GOTV calls for him - but he inexplicably lost to Stefanik and, despite the number of protests that there have been at her local headquarters since her first term, we've been stuck with her ever since - and she's gotten excessively worse over time.
