Sometimes it is true...

"A picture is worth a thousand words"

Yet listening to the testimonies of these four brave officers really brings it all home. Their statements and answers were full of the raw emotions they felt that day. The beatings, pain, the verbal abuse, the racial slurs, they held the line and upheld their oath. They did all this not knowing whether they would make it out alive to see their wives and children.

Then, after all was said and done, they faced the ultimate betrayal of Republicans wanting to sweep it under the rug. They want to pretend it did not happen.

I did not know that their words and raw emotions were going to hit me this hard.

They were all passionate about giving their testimony and making their voice be heard.

That's why they tried so hard to prevent it.

ETA: The testimony, that is, they sure as h-e-double-hockey-sticks didn't try to prevent the insurrection.

21. Making a minor correction: "it's a reflux"

The first thing repugs do is to do projectile vomit, a common tactic in reptiles that are under threat - throw up whatever is important as a weapon.

Accuse the opponents of everything you have consumed, digested, taken as your food source.

Now you're hungry again. Time to gorge, steal, lie again. And then reflux redux.

13. From what i saw of the officer's testimony and the videos this morning's hearing was a game changer

Even Fox News' Bret Baier had to say today that the officers statements and the videos were
very compelling. Cheney and Kenziger are gonna come out of these hearings looking really
good.

1. I don't know how ANY RepubliQan can dare be in the same hall or room what with their betrayal towards the Capitol Police.

2. I also don't know how any of those officers can stand to see the faces of those Chicken Hawks when they walk past them.

22. We've Been Here Before

It's all very moving but it probably won't make a difference. We've been here before, or fairly close to here when, in the two impeachment procedures, witnesses made powerful statements and managers made eloquent arguments -- none of which made any difference to the Republican participants, outlying commentators, and the malignant base. I doubt that anything will modify Republican behavior short of nonpardonable convictions and jail terms.
