It’s the end of the month, which means that politicians are trying to raise as much money as possible for their campaigns and PACs before the fundraising deadline on the 31st. Here’s a look at one fundraising email Nancy Pelosi sent last week.

Nancy Pelosi and the rest of House Democratic leadership don’t have substance to sell, so instead, they are pushing fear-based fundraising tactics to raise money and push their status-quo agenda in Congress.

Racism, the climate crisis, and economic inequality are more of a threat to the American people than Donald Trump, yet Nancy Pelosi and corporate Democrats have failed to make any headway on issues actually affecting Americans.

The problem with these scammy fundraising tactics is that they work — and Nancy Pelosi and her team know it. But we promise Christian, that we’ll never deceive our grassroots supporters just to make a quick buck.

Perhaps they should share their track record in actually getting candidates elected?

The main thing in this email is DIVISION. Which leads to weakness.

Republicans and Russians may not get direct $ contributions from this, but they will reap benefit.

I am the Just Us Democrats mailing list. Attacking Speaker Pelosi is not a good move. I want candidates who will work with Joe Biden and Speaker Pelosi and not candidates who are going to try to sabotage the efforts and priorities of the party

The Just Us Democrats live in a different universe where regular or "corporate" democrats are bad people. I have spent over 15 years working inside party politics and I am amused by the term "corporate" democrat in that I practice corporate law.

I found today's email to be really amusing. I am not sure what are the policies and results that Just Us democrats think that they can accomplish in the real world

29. That's one of their tamer emails recently. Reminder to all: these are the folks who want....

....DEMOCRATS to support their candidates in primaries.

Sure, they'll "never deceive our grassroots supporters just to make a quick buck", but they never tell such grassroots supporters that they're now contributing to a Super PAC which will churn dark money into campaigns. They spent more than $900K against Eliot Engel last year in his primary against Bowman, and are probably now over $1M in the OH-11 primary.

They very deceitfully state this at the bottom of their contribution page:

You can make contributions of up to $5,000 per calendar year to Justice Democrats’ Contribution Account. Individual contributions will be allocated as follows: $5,000 per calendar year to a bank account that operates as a Federal PAC, and the remainder to the Non-Contribution Account of the PAC.

They pointedly avoid telling potential contributors that one of those two accounts is their Super PAC that can spend unlimited amounts of money for/against candidates.

Edited to add: regarding their "past performances", the last I looked they were running about 9% success rate. It's tough to keep up with it now because they're doing so badly that after an election cycle they take down their endorsements from their website and leave only their winning candidates.

This was the work of Bowman's campaign manager and Justice Democrats operative, Luke Hayes.

Luke Hayes happens to be the brother of Chris Hayes, which explains why Justice Democrats appear on his show 3-4 times a week.
