In all seriousness, McConnell had equal authority with Pelosi, but neither of them were in charge of security. And it was the White House that held back on sending in reinforcements when he situation got out of control.

…which includes the house sergeant of arms that reports to Nancy. But then there is the senate sergeant (McConnell controlled) of arms and then the Capitol architect.
