She is totally out of her element here, and its painful to watch. She looks nervous as hell. Why not bring Willie Geist back for an hour until they find a permanent anchor?

(14,061 posts)Appears quite often on Morning Joe. Shes very critical of the party and is much more in her element in discussions.
She kind of reminds me here of the Albert Brooks character in Broadcast News anchoring the weekend news, only without the flop sweat, if you remember that movie.

(38,958 posts)Thanks for the explanation. I know now that it isnt an important issue.

(3,769 posts)Unwatchable. She needs more experience. She looks terrified, voice shaking. Switched to CNN until 6. Now she's on MJ.
Seems better there.

(9,942 posts)... the show was horrible. "It's way to early for this" was stomach-turning cute after reciting headlines. Awful... I hope the new host isn't saying that... what a waste of an hour. They need to start over...

Yes, MSNBC will be losing its lead in audience to Morning Joe if it either cant find someone suited to the job, or doesnt retool the show completely. The Way Too Early title suggests irreverence, which it really doesnt have anymore.

Shes great with analysis on MJ.

(6,280 posts).... this was her first attempt at hosting a news show. I don't know about you guys, but in all my 68 years, every job I have ever attempted for the first time went as smooth as silk.

(25,467 posts)I said that I feel bad for her. Shes under no illusion that she is doing her best work.

(6,280 posts).... did I even hint that you or anyone in this thread thinks she should be fired? No need to defend yourself when there is nothing to be defensive about.

you dont put people in roles that they are not suited for, and are CLEARLY uncomfortable doing. Im dealing with a similar situation at my job, and its complete bullshit. I am completely in Jordans corner here, and am pissed at MSNBC for just throwing anybody from Morning Joe into that job. Last week it was Jonathan Lemire. Will it be David Ignatius next week? Ether find someone capable of doing the early show, or retool it.
(Emoji is totally uncalled for, IMO.)

(6,280 posts).... until you try it. It sounds as though you think she and Jonathan Lemire were forced or coerced into the role as hosts. I would be willing to bet a paycheck they were not. Until they find a permanent host, I see absolutely nothing wrong in giving these journalists the opportunity to spread their wings a bit. Speaking of a permanent host, who knows, David Ignatius might just be the one.
As far as "retooling" the show, and I have not the foggiest idea what that would consist of, they will still be in the same boat they are in now. Finding a suitable permanent host.

But it is a good slot start with if you are entering this field. Im giving her some time to get her legs and iron out the kinks.
