Ongoing investigations lay the necessary groundwork for the next public hearing.

The committee could subpoena the former president and other Republicans

Chair Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., didn't rule out subpoenas for Trump and other senior White House officials, telling reporters after the hearing, "We will follow the facts." He indicated that the committee could schedule a hearing next month, even though the House is scheduled to take its regular August recess.

Let yesterday’s testimony sink in. Reminds folks of what happened Jan 6. Folks forget too easily. A lot of people aren’t paying attention in the summer anyway. DOJ’s statement permitting testimony from officials is timed perfectly to allow the subpoenas to flow and gives the committee time to decide on who to subpoena. Seems like some are sweating already. Jordan seemed let it out that he spoke with TFG on Jan. 6. Wouldn’t be surprised to hear similar confessions from others. I too would like this to proceed quickly, but I am more patient now.

And let the GOP apologists recess and hear from their constituents and face the new polls.

The important thing is to keep yesterday's testimony in the news cycle and not let it be drowned out by the right wing spin.
