(18,187 posts)Ongoing investigations lay the necessary groundwork for the next public hearing.
Chair Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., didn't rule out subpoenas for Trump and other senior White House officials, telling reporters after the hearing, "We will follow the facts." He indicated that the committee could schedule a hearing next month, even though the House is scheduled to take its regular August recess.

(4,781 posts)Let yesterdays testimony sink in. Reminds folks of what happened Jan 6. Folks forget too easily. A lot of people arent paying attention in the summer anyway. DOJs statement permitting testimony from officials is timed perfectly to allow the subpoenas to flow and gives the committee time to decide on who to subpoena. Seems like some are sweating already. Jordan seemed let it out that he spoke with TFG on Jan. 6. Wouldnt be surprised to hear similar confessions from others. I too would like this to proceed quickly, but I am more patient now.

(9,229 posts)And let the GOP apologists recess and hear from their constituents and face the new polls.
The important thing is to keep yesterday's testimony in the news cycle and not let it be drowned out by the right wing spin.
