She made the best choice for the team to withdraw after missing the Vault.

(31,261 posts)If Biles was her old self the rest of the way, then maybe the USA could have caught Russia. But she was not ok and likely would have kept making mistakes that would have pushed the USA completely off the podium.
I am really glad that she made a decision not to do the All Around competition. The woman that will replace her gets a valid chance to medal and Lee gets a good shot at Gold.
Micheal Phelps talked a little about what she may be going through. He was the greatest Swimmer in the world and actually considered suicide because of the mental state that he was in. The issue he pointed out was that an elite athlete starts performing to meet other peoples expectations and along the way lose doing their sport because of love for that sport.
