I will start, please add on:
1. Voter ID being legal
2. Cancel Culture (why is accountability called something else?)
3. Violence by BLM
4. Antifa (was gonna say violence by Antifa, but there is no such organization in the first place)

(10,167 posts)to make it sound gruesome. Our Aunt Faye had that procedure done in the 50's as an emergency to save her life. She was delivering her baby and he or she became lodged in the birth canal, causing an emergency situation. The baby would have been stillborn or died shortly after birth since it had severe hydrocephaly (water head, to put it crudely).
Today, with ultrasonography, this would have been known in advance and not have been an emergency.

"There is no Antifa."
As someone who lives in the Bay Area and, in particular, worked around Berkeley and Oakland, I knew about Antifa before it was ever a gleam in the Internet's eye. Antifa, By Any Means Necessary, Black Bloc, etc. Fairly radical Leftist outfits that have an affinity for property damage (and if you don't believe me, take a glance at downtown Oakland at any point in the last ten years, or Berkeley every now and again).
They exist. They advertise themselves. They've been around for ages. They intermix and intermingle quite a bit, so sometimes you're not sure who you're dealing with.
No, they're not centralized or really any kind of official organization like BLM became.
But the whole, "They don't exist!" is such a bizarre denial of reality to me. Why do people do this?
It's like saying Occupy Wall Street never existed because they didn't have a recognizable leader or serious incorporated organization.
Groups like Antifa exist. They have forever. It's just that the Right has recently seized upon them as the cause of all things unholy.
"Antifa doesn't exist." God. So creepy. Such a blatant untruth that gets rotely repeated. It gives me the jeebies to see it. I hope people are just saying that out of ignorance.

(31,109 posts)If they are an actual physical group like the green party or the dnc, then do you have their website?
I would love to join the organization, so please direct me to the national headquarters.

(31,109 posts)And I will make you a deal, show me where they are so I can join them or ATLEAST communicate with them, and I will remove them from the list.
There is a reason this is VERY important.

(9,073 posts)He's a very radical Leftist, identifies as Antifa and other things. His friends do, too. They go to meetings about various organizing things. I have no idea. He tries to tell me sometimes when we're both in the kitchen, but I steer around it. I'm pretty Lefty, but I am nowhere close to as radical as him or his friends. But they're much younger than I. As it is, he gave me some decent books about the Philippine revolution I've been gradually working through.
I don't get this resistance to obvious facts. It's like watching someone deny the sky is blue.
It's a decentralized movement, with members who organize.
Do you think those protests fall out of a clear blue sky?
I watched them organize the Berkeley protest a few years back. It was supposed to be some Trumpy demonstration in MLK Park. Local Antifa organized to counter-protest. Then there was a riot/fight. Antifa ended up retreating to the university.
It was a whole thing.
Here's a WaPo article about it.

(9,073 posts)I said they're a decentralized group. There's no one national Antifa group. But to say they don't exist in the same way other movements like Occupy Wall Street have is weird.
Where was the Occupy HQ?
Or did the Occupy movement not exist either?
Do you see what I mean?

(9,073 posts)Antifa exists. I've seen people say "Antifa doesn't exist," so many times that it's worrisome.
Ideology shouldn't be papering over objective reality.
