How f'ing f'ked up is this CNN headline?!?

“Some people in Missouri are getting vaccinated in secret to avoid backlash from loved ones, doctor says”

So now people not getting Covid because they’ve been secretly vaccinated will only serve to confirm that vaccines are unnecessary for the vaccine science deniers.

Merde alors!

Whatever works to get them vaxxed.

Some of these people live in very small towns. Folks can be judgmental. They may be afraid of backlash not just to themselves, but to their friends and family, as well. It’s not fair, but it can mean a real threat to some of these people.

Yes it may feed a narrative that "unvaccinated" people aren't getting sick. The bigger issue is that this situation continues to be so politicized that people are afraid to be honest.

I mean, no one hides the fact they they got the Polio vaccine, or Measles, or the Flu shot. Why is it that COVID-19 vaccines are the exception?

Media, particularly right wing media AND right wing politicians lying about the vaccine and spreading doubt. That is the big difference that makes the exception.

We are obviously hamstrung by the First Amendment, in dealing with these assholes, but something has to be done about the lying for political gain.

When 10% of people admit to being vaxxed, but the records show 50%, we'll obviously know somebody's lying.
And, if they get a handle on the recent spike because vax numbers jumped, it means the vax slowed the spread.
They can't hide the fact forever.

Overheard in a bar in the town of Dogpatch, MO:

"How come you ain't sick yet?"

"I dunno. Jes' lucky, I guess."

"You ain't takin' any of that vaccine stuff, are ya?"

"Oh, no, nuthin' like that."

"You ain't wearin' none o' them masks, either, are ya?"

"No, I would never do that."

"And you STILL ain't caught that virus yet?"

"Guess not."

"Well, you shouldn't let it drag on too long."

"I promise."
