New York Times: “The recommendation that vaccinated people in some parts of the country dust off their masks was based largely on one troublesome finding, according to Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

“New research showed that vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant carry tremendous amounts of the virus in the nose and throat.”

“The finding contradicts what scientists had observed in vaccinated people infected with previous versions of the virus, who mostly seemed incapable of infecting others.”

Yeah, I have no problem wearing a mask to protect people from a virus I may be minimally susceptible to but could kill them. The vaccine is free. Join us.

I mean, not to be flippant but this is how vaccines work. COVID can get to more people if it doesn't kill the host. The reason Smallpox stopped killing people is because *everyone got the vaccine* or died from it. Smallpox and Polio aren't a problem nowadays, but kids *still get vaccinated* for them just to make sure. If people don't get vaxxed then it stays around and hopefully mutates to become still-but-less lethal like the standard flu profile that goes around.
