(15 posts)If these idiot antivaxxers would be forced to get the shot, none of these outbreaks would be happening. I would be happy to hold down my trumper neighbor while he gets it on his porch, laughing at him the whole time.

(44,973 posts)Just because you are vaccinated, doesn't mean you can go to large parties and expect not to get infected.

(16,199 posts)This might be the same scenario on steroids. The disease isnt breaking out, or is mild, but they carry lots of virus in the nose than can be spread.
To be perfectly honest, part of me thinks we (vaccinated) shouldnt mask to protect the unvaccinated. They couldnt give a damn about us, so why should we do so for them?

(4,741 posts)We the vaxxed have a 90+% less chance of getting seriously ill, let alone dying, but we can catch and transmit the virus just as easily?

(15 posts)Intrepid volunteers could show up at a few rep rallies and really turn the odds in our favor. I like your thinking
sir pball
(4,741 posts)Quite seriously, I'd accept the risk. Unfortunately I don't know anyone positive, nor are there any vulnerable events near me...
And no, I'm not a terribly nice person
Iheartsocialism
(15 posts)Is the risk? The worst part of it would be having to sit through their lies and dodge the dip bottles
sir pball
(4,741 posts)But within my risk envelope; if I'll take the chance on thrill sports like skydiving or bungee jumping just for fun, it's certainly worth it for a greater cause like this.

(9,006 posts)....and it appears that number is increasing, so I would not recommend you go around maskless, even if you have been vaccinated.
Just because you are vaccinated, doesn't mean you can go to large parties and expect not to get infected.
And we have a family retirement party to attend tomorrow evening. No one who did not get vaccinated was invited, but we will mask up anyway.

(15 posts)Have been charged with assault for spitting on cops while having the AIDS virus. I think there is precedent for doing the same for those who refuse to get vaccinated or wear a mask and spread covid

(36,106 posts)You want to assault the nonvaxxed, you want to deliberately infect the nonvaxxed
...and you want the DU community to appear to support that

(111,079 posts)Is the vaccine losing its efficacy?
If they carry the same viral load, but the only difference between the vaccinated and unvaccinated is that the vaccinated are better prepared to fight the virus because of their vaccine, is that not a good argument for the vaccine?
If it keeps you from going to the hospital and keeps you from dying, then it has done an effective job.
It is disturbing that both vaccinated and unvaccinated can carry the viral loads and spread it to others.
The mask is about the only defense we have at this time.
I would like to see the Biden Administration make an effort to get masks to every household in America, the N95 types.
LisaL
(44,973 posts)Delta variant is producing 1,000 fold higher viral load compared to previous variants.
So both vaccinated and unvaccinated who are infected have high viral loads.
