Never got called.

I made the mistake early in my career of trying to get a client out of federal jury duty. After an interesting phone call with Judge Harold (Darth) Vietor, I never made that mistake again. Not even for me.

After a year of suspended trials, I would think they'd be getting as many started as possible.

Think they have started jury trials in CT yet. Of course it's about to be August. You could roll bowling balls down court hallways in August and not hit anyone.

PS I was wrong. Jury trials started 6/1 in CT. It's still about to be August though.

The last time I was called, the defendant turned out to be a former 2nd grade student of mine. Needless to say, I was bounced.
The time before that was for a civil suit. As we were funneling into court to be empaneled, they settled.

But hope springs eternal!

Right before COVID went Krakatoa.
Felony domestic battery case.
We only deliberated 30 minutes before I called the first vote.
12 Not Guilty votes.
The prosecution not only didn't prove he did it, they didn't even prove for sure that a crime was committed.
Later, they gave us info neither side could use in court.
The case was a family blood feud that escalated into the legal system. And, we got stuck in the middle of it.
Only for two & a quarter days, though.

It involved an interstate burglary ring. The stories she told (later) were really fascinating and showed how dumb most criminals are.
