Why do Republicans keep sending these unserious, comical morons to Congress?

They serve no purpose except to spread rumors and conspiracy theories and to create havoc within the House of Representatives.

Please stop voting for those people.

You know who they are.

Look at the intellect of Democrats in elected office. Many are brilliant, at the very least these representatives and senators are very smart.

Compare them to elected republicans. They are idiots. Gaetz, Greene, Boebart, Gohmert, Ernst, Noem....the list is endless. Yes, there are exceptions. Liz Cheney is well educated and very bright. So is Adam Kinzinger. Mitt Romney is pretty smart. Lisa Murkowski is smart. But this is a handful of people in a sea of morons.

DISTRACTION. Pure and simple.

contrary to what most believe, Republicans are not stupid. they have literally spent the past 50 years working on the long game of authoritarian one party rule in this country. sure we barely dodged the bullet in 2020, but that just shows how close they really are. whats changed since then?? not much, just a lot more statehouse under their control, and more money and years of gaslighting the entire country.

while we're spending all day running after Goetz and company, distracted by "squirrel ", what other crap is being planned? while we're fighting voter suppression and standing for abortion rights and lgbtq rights and minimum wage and human dignity and climate change and all the other REAL ISSUES, I fear they're upgrading their plans for their one party rule, because they came sooo close to pulling off a coup here last year. and all they're doing is planning and scheming and getting ready for the next time around. They don't care about issues or morality or rule of law or fairness or people or lives, they care about only one thing...EXPANDING THEIR POWER.

and if history has shown us anything, its that they're in it for the long haul, incremental improvements that lead to their goals... Call me an alarmist, no, don't. call me a realist.

Don’t think Democrats will be able to do this until they get more members in Congress but one or more of these things need to be done

1. Break up large companies that spread disinformation
2. Require companies like Facebook to follow the same requirements as news organizations.
3. Require news organizations opinion divisions to vet what they are saying and comply with news division requirements
4. Change requirements to make suing these opinion people easier for egregious lies
5. Change the laws that allow media companies to own so many news outlets (yah not going to happen). What is it now - 6 corporations own 90% of news outlets?

What do you think is doable? Is there anything that can be done outside of Congress (executive orders) that is not a pipe dream?

Sorry, I just get so frustrated!!!

The W era and the 9/11 fever resulted in a purge of anyone reasonable or principled. Then the Tea Party came along, Libertatian Astro turf that it was, and purged nearly all who remained. The political take over of the party was completed with Trump.

There is simply no thoughtful, intelligent, serious Republicans left. They all left the station twenty years ago. That party used to use race baiting, and name calling to herd in the rubes for votes. Now the rubes they used to joke about in private run the party. The people that thought they could "control" the rubes have lost control to them or worse lost their minds.

It's no longer a political party, it's a attention whore feast. They care more about likes and follows than any agenda.
