Last Thursday I had flu like symptoms and a sore throat

and sinus trouble the last three days. To be safe I took the COVID
test this morning and I am negative. There was nothing to the test a couple Q Tips to the nose and a 15 minute wait.

A client had the same. Quick swab was negative, nasopharyngeal PCR lab was positive.

test but I declined. Tgry said the quick test may not pick up the variants. But right now it is just a slight head cold.

Even PCRs can have a terrible false negative rate if taken in the wrong time frame.

Also: I would NEVER use a Veritas POC test again. Those were terrible.

So don't put much stock in that. Delta hallmarks in my experience are "gargling ground glass" sore throat, runny nose, headache, body aches. The respiratory and higher fever shows up later.

Everyone around me has the same sniffles and achy feelings, so I thought I should test first to see if the rest of the crew needed.

Glad we don't have the 'vid, but I'm afraid every illness will have us going "is it covid" for a while to come.

A year ago last May I went to the ER with a temp of 103. Had 3 COVID test in the first 12 hours all negative. Turned out I had sepsis, way more deadly than COVID. Good thing I went in right away. Never did find where the infection began.

Is going to get tested tomorrow. She is manager and runs large honda dealership, she said there isn't software yet to do paperwork for buying a car online so they can't work at home. I said I did all my doc u sign for my last house online and she said I know you can buy a house but not a car you have to sign documents in person.

She said she feels fine, is vaccinated but afraid if positive she won't know what to do if forced home for two weeks. She has the type of job where she gets called on every vacation she tries to take and that is rare.

I told her she can't give to others so she has to do right thing, she knows it but is overwhelmed by the thought.

OSHA is close to taking over because of amount of cases. She blames herself for letting down guard for just two weeks of no mask.

The owner is a real ass republican who wants everyone at work. He is pushing her.

She said out of the 15 cases 13 are vaccinated but the 2 who are not are the sickest. She had just finally talked receptionist into getting shot and she got covid week after first shot.

She asked OSHA lady if they could mandate to force employees to get shots because she said they legally couldn't. Lady told her no. I am not sure what CA law is about that but I do know more and more bosses want a mandate.

interactions, especially with the owner. If she does catch Covid then she needs to take off as long as is needed.

She needs to not worry about taking time off, stand up HARD to that fucking git of an owner (I have NEVER allowed anyone to domme me out anywhere, but do realise not all are like me) and if he goes all big dick willy and tries to sack her, sue the fuck of him.

I would be looking for another job as well. The place sounds like a shithole.

Makes a ton of money and runs the place. Owner is gone most of the time. She and other managers do everything. She is very organized and does have everything written down.

Worst in my life. Fever of over 102 which I had never had. In bed for 4 days. My whole body hurt. I was scared and pissed. Mainly scared for the wife who at the first sign of my illness moved to the other side of the house.

But 2 tests, including one at the hospital which was the good test came back negative.

I got the flu in the smallest flu season in history! First time in my 55 years. And yes, I take the flu shot every year.

Could have been some kind of crazy food poisoning although I was not nauseous. I eat crazy stuff and was in a period of cooking every type of fowl available. A day or so before I bought pigeons and had them slaughtered and processed. Ate them medium rare. But no one else got sick.

It made me double down on my Covid precautions.

Both of were tested twice and were negative.

Mine cleared up with antibiotics.

Both of us had nasty conjunctivitis....

I really did not want to be around anyone because I did not want anyone to catch the crud.

I think our immune systems are a bit depressed from not having exposure for almost 2 years, so we were both sicker than usual. Hubby swore he had Covid, but he didn't.

... and woke up with a cold and sore throat the next day. He had already been vaccinated but he was worried he might have picked up the virus on the plane or at the airport. He wore a mask the entire time, but you never know!

So my nephew got one of those "quickie" tests at the pharmacy and it came back negative. We were all very relieved, so nephew is recovering from a summer cold.

I think they were saying the summer has had a higher level of flu than normal because so many people didn't catch it last winter.

I took the flu vac last year, mild was over it in 7 days.
