Man they don't dumb things down on CNBC! Anyone hear Dr Gottlieb

this a.m. on Covid? Dr Scott Gottlieb, former head of FDA.

He rattled off numbers so quickly I had to play it back three times and still don't know if I got them right.

He is quite optimistic. In fact he said the trajectory of the "rate of transfer" in some Southern States is going down (you want it under 1) and he expects a slowing with only a couple weeks to go. Expansion, however, in other states including the North.

I think I have these numbers right. Anyone else see him and can correct this? He said there are 90 million adults unvaccinated of which 40 million have already had it. That leaves 50 million adults who need to be vaccinated. Of that 50 million 15 million are already infected. And another 15 million will become infected. Leaving only 20 million wild cards.

them to wear masks again! It's a new infection and it's different. Instead people are glomming on to the idea that whatever we were told before for the original covid is valid today.

So they told me I should wear a raincoat, so I’m so confused, should I go inside should I get wet, should I put on a raincoat. I wish they wouldn’t keep changing these mandates. And the rain just keeps falling from the sky I’m so confused

your Covid infection was, there's a direct relationship to how much immunity you built up. And they don't really know how long that immunity lasts. And, covid survivors could this day be carrying the virus and infecting other people.

Literally not enough time has passed to analyze properly nor enough good data huh

A virus that can be spread by children is still very dangerous even if a very high number of adults have some sort of immunity from either vaccinations or previous infections.

That children were a big source of spreading the virus now.

It is so ironic that now we have to fear and avoid children.

I think back to when I was 10 and I would be laying in bed now unable to sleep if I was having to go through this period of time.

You know it's ironic that the people we care about the most were vaccinated first. And then the Israeli studies showed that efficacy reduces over time.
And they're the most vulnerable.

Gottlieb said today that US was behind the curve on boosters. And he answered a question that really surprised me. He said the booster was the same as the vaccine. All the while I thought it was some new thing that the drug companies had to come up with. Evidently the drug companies are lagging just because they're trying to make sure that there are no adverse effects with giving the vaccine again? And that takes time

We have tweets from a total nut job like Eric Ding taken as holy nuggets of gospel with some folks so perhaps Gottlieb is the counter balance.

who doesn't want a single person to get sick, let alone die. And Gottlieb on the other end of the spectrum, who thinks in the big picture is this likely to end? versus get worse?

I think the setting had something to do with it. CNBC, they were all quite intelligent in my mind. They're used to hearing the bottom line numbers from business executives.
