" The Chicago Fraternal Order of Police is trying to help Officer Karol Chwiesiuk get back his Illinois Firearm Owners Identification Card, which he was forced to surrender when he was brought up on federal charges in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

In court filings, Chwiesiuk’s attorneys say, even though he has been placed on desk duty and isn’t allowed to possess a firearm because of the charges against him, he is still required to possess a valid FOID card as a condition of his employment with CPD."

He lost all firearm privileges for his actions.
