BEN DOMENECH (HOST): You are supposed to be comfortable with the government the elites give you, which will use emergency powers to keep you masked up, locked down, and prevent you from buying seeds, but will do nothing to stop the cartel benefiting anarchy at the border. Just as the elites feared and hated the "wide awakes" of the 1860s, so their ideological descendants fear and hate the wide awake Americans of the 2020s.

Make no mistake, the progressive left today is the inheritor and continuants of the slave power of yesterday. It is the same aristocratic creed, the same enmity to the Declaration of Independence, the same fixation on the hierarchy of race and caste, and the same dread of Americans who rebel against them -- the same horror at the possibility that an ordinary working man, regardless of his race, might wake up to the truth.

That's why they do their damndest to keep wide awake Americans suppressed, demonized, locked down, and for the rest, to keep them asleep and in the dark.

PROGRESSIVES, who at the time of the Civil War, were the Radical Republicans, were against slavery for humanistic and moral reasons. The Democratic Party, which in the 1800's was the CONSERVATIVE party, ran on PRESERVATION or CONSERVING the "natural order" of things which held that the White man (a relatively new concept) was superior to Black people and that Black people's natural tendency was servitude. Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican, until it was clear that Republicans were beginning to be for CONSERVING the power of big money rather than legislating for the average person, which is why he left the REPUBLICAN party and formed the PROGRESSIVE Bull Moose party. At that time in 1912 BOTH major parties were leaning more towards conservatism with the Republicans beholden to big money and the Democrats still stuck in White Supremacy (Woodrow Wilson, the elected President of 1912, was a HUGE RACIST). FDR began the Democratic shift away from implicit racism in the 1930's and took on big money, expanding the power of the Federal Government to help the average person ravaged by the Great Depression. Truman, made strides in integrating the military and Eleanor Roosevelt was a prominent civil rights advocate in the 1940's and 50's.

Eisenhower ran on a liberal platform in 1952. In the 60's though, the big shift started to happen, Republicans knowing that their support of industry over people, saw their base shrinking. Nixon tacked to the right and embraced the racism and support for segregation in the South. That is when the last racist holdouts in the Democratic Party (not that racism is fully gone) left and changed their affiliation to the Republican Party. Since the 60's the Republicans have been the party of White Supremacy and with Reagan's presidency, they kicked the movement conservatism to hyperdrive bringing in radical fundamentalist Christians as well.

This guy has a moron. The Republican Party represents maybe 40% to 45% of the actual population, and likely less when they are honest with their policies. They represent so little of what America actually stands for that they have had to resort to this outright lying and craziness, and cheating, to remain relevant. Unfortunately they have most of the money behind them and money can be used to persuade a lot of weak minded people.
